Coming soon! Make a stocking or Santa sack
Coming soon! Make a stocking or Santa sack
Saturdays: 9.30am-12pm
Saturday 7th, 14th and 21st November
Do you have some special clothes that you’re looking to make into a keepsake? In this course, you will turn these clothes into a Christmas sack, creating a keepsake that will last a lifetime!
Over a period of 3 weeks, you will turn these clothes into something brand new using your existing skills in a new way. You will learn why interfacing and lots (and lots!) of ironing is so important, and how to ‘lock’ seams together to create a beautiful finish.
What materials are required?
You will need to provide enough clothes for 48 x 6” squares (we can cut multiple squares from the same item of clothing). I will provide the fleece top, lining fabric, tie cord and interfacing.
If you only have enough clothes for the front of the sack, you will also need to provide 1m of cotton or cotton poplin fabric for the reverse.
Where is the venue?
This course will take place in Dorking, RH5 with the full address provided after booking. There is plenty of parking (chargeable) and I will also provide tea, coffee, water/squash, biscuits and a welcoming atmosphere!
When does the next course start?
The next course starts on Saturday 7th November and requires a minimum of 4 people to go ahead. If this number is not reached, I will contact you to discuss an alternative date.
I don’t know how to sew, does this matter?
Not at all! You’re welcome to come along and learn as you go, or you can book onto a 45-60 minute ‘Lesson 0’ at a reduced cost (£30 instead of £40) to learn the basics of how to set up and use a sewing machine. I will email you to book this lesson in, if requested.
How much does it cost?
£150pp to include tuition, instructions, lining cotton, fleece top, interfacing and refreshments. This can be paid in full at the time of booking, in 2 instalments of 50%* or you can use Klarna at checkout to pay in 3 instalments (please borrow responsibly and only use this option if it helps you to spread the cost).
* The final 50% is due 1 week prior to the course start date.
How many spaces are available?
There are 6 spaces available on this course and I require a minimum of 4 people for the course to run. I currently have 4 machines available for hire.
